Article 1 (Applicability and Eligibility)
1. These Terms and Conditions set forth the requirements for submitting entries to the "1st KCP prototype 2026" contest (comprising three categories: Video, Music & Sound, and Idea & Concept). Submission of an entry constitutes agreement to these Terms and Conditions.
2. To submit an entry, applicants must agree to the Supporter Terms of Use and complete Supporter registration.
3. Entries may be submitted under an individual name or a team name. For team entries, a designated representative must handle the submission process and list the names of all team members in the "Project Overview" section of the submission form. The representative is responsible for obtaining consent from all team members prior to submission, and any resolution of rights among members must be handled internally within the team.
4. Applicants under the age of 18 require parental or guardian consent. When submitting, applicants must check the box on the submission form confirming that such consent has been obtained.
5. Entries from outside Kagoshima Prefecture and from overseas are welcome.
Article 2 (Submission Method and Period)
1. Submission Period: October 1 – December 20, 2026 (tentative).
2. Entries must be submitted by uploading the work file (in a format appropriate for the category, such as MP4 or PDF) via the dedicated submission form.
3. Once the Secretariat has verified the content, submitted files will be published on the official KCP YouTube channel and the list of entries on this website (Judging Period: November 1 – December 31, 2026, tentative).
4. Submitted files will not be stored long-term. Applicants must retain the original data themselves.
Article 3 (Rights and Usage License)
1. Copyrights to submitted works remain with the applicant (or the rightful rights holder within the team).
2. Applicants grant the Committee and the Secretariat a royalty-free license to use the submitted works in the following ways:
(1) Uploading to and maintaining public availability on the official KCP YouTube channel;
(2) Listing on the list of works on this website;
(3) Use for publicity, documentation, and reporting activities related to this contest and future KCP/KCF projects (including use on social media, in digest videos, or as excerpts in reports). However, this does not include repurposing for standalone commercial advertisements by sponsoring companies or similar entities.
3. The permissions granted in the preceding paragraph shall be unlimited in duration, worldwide in scope, and non-exclusive in nature.
4. Entrants agree not to exercise their moral rights as authors regarding the use of their submitted works by the Committee or third parties designated by the Committee, to the extent necessary for publicity and publication (including cropping, creating thumbnails, adding subtitles, creating short digests, etc.).
5. The permissions granted in the preceding paragraphs are non-exclusive and do not prevent the entrant from using the work themselves (e.g., displaying it in their own portfolio). However, duplicate submissions to other contests are prohibited. Entries are limited to works that have not been previously published elsewhere and are not simultaneously submitted to other contests.
Article 4 (Warranties and Third-Party Rights)
1. Entrants warrant that their submitted works do not infringe upon the copyrights, portrait rights, trademark rights, or any other rights of third parties. If third-party materials (such as background music or stock assets) are used, the entrant is responsible for obtaining the necessary legal permissions for their use.
2. Should a dispute with a third party arise in connection with a submitted work, the entrant shall resolve the dispute at their own expense and responsibility.
3. For works featuring individuals, the entrant must obtain the consent of the subject (or their guardian, in the case of a minor).
Article 5 (Use of Generative AI)
1. If generative AI tools are used in the production of the work, the entrant must declare such use and the approximate proportion of AI usage at the time of submission (in accordance with transparency rules for open platform judging).
2. The generative AI subject to declaration is defined as AI that generates content itself, such as images, video, music, or text. Editing assistance tools—such as those for automatic caption transcription, noise reduction, or color correction—are exempt from this declaration requirement.
3. If a false declaration is discovered, measures such as exclusion from the judging process (disqualification) or suspension of public display may be taken.
4. Applicants are responsible for complying with the terms of service of any generative AI tools they use.
Article 6 (KCP Collaboration)
1. This contest encourages a "theater-style contest" format, where forum participants collaborate to enhance their works. Collaboration is not mandatory; entries completed by individuals will be evaluated on equal footing.
2. Procedures for modifying and resubmitting a work after its initial submission—such as in response to feedback—shall be stipulated in the Application Guidelines.
3. Participants must reach a prior agreement regarding the ownership and shares of copyright, as well as the handling of rights should a collaborator withdraw. The Committee will not intervene in the adjustment of rights between participants.
Article 7 (Judging and Announcement)
1. Judging will be conducted via an "Open Platform Evaluation" system, incorporating community voting, AI analysis, and the judgment of the Executive Committee.
2. Announcement of results: Mid-January 2027 (tentative).
3. No individual objections or inquiries regarding the judging results or the selection process will be accepted. The Committee’s decision shall be final.
4. Details regarding awards and production grants, as well as the conditions for their conferral, shall be stipulated separately in the Application Guidelines (including the tax treatment of prize money and grounds for forfeiture of award eligibility).
Article 8 (Disqualification and Suspension of Public Display)
The Secretariat may disqualify an entry or suspend/remove a work from public display if any of the following apply:
(1) Violation of these Terms or the Application Guidelines;
(2) Infringement (or potential infringement) of third-party rights;
(3) Content contrary to public order and morals;
(4) False declarations;
(5) Any other case deemed inappropriate by the Secretariat.
Article 9 (Disclaimer)
1. The Committee shall not be held liable if an application is not completed due to communication failures, file corruption, upload errors, or similar issues.
2. The Committee shall determine the handling of cases where publication is interrupted due to specification changes, service outages, or account suspensions involving external services such as YouTube.
Article 10 (Governing Law, Jurisdiction, and Language)
1. Article 10 of the Supporter Terms of Use shall apply mutatis mutandis to these Terms and Conditions.
2. In the event of any conflict or discrepancy between the Japanese version and the English version of these Terms and Conditions, the Japanese version shall prevail.
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. In the event of any discrepancy between the Japanese version and the English version, the Japanese version shall prevail.
