ABOUT KCP prototype 2026

About KCP

Kagoshima Creative Festival (KCF) goes beyond the frame of a simple contest. It is a "festival" where creators make the most of their talent and inspire one another across fields.

KCP (Kagoshima Creative Platform) is the online "platform" that handles the publishing, evaluation and matching of content, as well as project management, all in one place.

A proving ground that questions the "present" of creativity and lights up its "future"

We welcome everyone who renews existing values and opens up new horizons of expression.

Prototype 2026 is a bold and intensive first step. It tests the "system of creation and circulation" that Kagoshima Creative Festival stands for, and leads to the full festival in 2027.

The philosophy of Kagoshima Creative Festival: the keyword is "ABC"

We stand for an advanced fusion of ART × BUSINESS × CULTURE. These do not exist separately. They are the three pillars that keep creative energy circulating.

  • Creativity: A light that frees us from fixed ideas. The power to break through stagnation and make unknown landscapes visible.
  • Diversity: The ground for innovation, born when different values collide and strike sparks.
  • System (circulation): Building an ecosystem that keeps fine work from being buried. By gathering, evaluating and using it, the ecosystem nurtures one new talent after another.

Why KCP, and why now: six innovative values

Our aim is to redefine what a contest can be.

01

Broader criteria for evaluation

From classical to contemporary music and visual art. Placing different genres side by side brings out the "essence of the idea," which existing standards could not see.

02

Theater-style collaboration

Judging does not happen in a quiet room. From the entry period on, works inspire one another and create unexpected resonance. We call this process itself the "theater."

03

Open Forum

On the message board, which is truly a Creative Lab, creators, Supporters and Sponsors talk with one another on equal footing. Even the line between those who are evaluated and those who evaluate begins to dissolve.

04

A transparent judging process

As a rule, works are published online. They are seen by everyone, evaluated and refined. The voices of the general audience are reflected directly in the judging.

05

Freedom to enter, without borders

Professionals and amateurs alike are welcome. Age, region and title do not matter. Talent from around the world steps into the same ring and goes head to head creatively.

06

Ongoing production support

Prototype 2026 is not a one-off event. Selected outstanding works will receive production support toward the full-scale festival in 2027.

KCP Business Circulation Model

Creative energy and funding pass through evaluation, support and commercialization, then flow into the next creation. This circulation model is centered on "KCP," the platform for operations and management.

MESSAGE FROM THE COMMITTEE

The Many Meanings of "Creative"

The word "creative" takes on diverse meanings depending on the field. In the context of art, it represents the "pursuit of expression"—breaking through existing concepts to give shape to new values and deep human impulses. In business, it signifies "practical innovation"—identifying problems and combining technology with ideas to deliver tangible value to society.

Today, the rise of technologies such as generative AI has dramatically democratized the means of creative expression. The line between experts and non-experts is blurring, ushering in an era where anyone can realize sophisticated expressions in an instant. At this cultural turning point, what truly matters is not merely a "difference in technical skill." It is our underlying attitude: how we embrace AI as a new tool, and how we connect it with human sensibility and inner reflection.

KCP (Kagoshima Creative Platform) carries forward the founding philosophy of the Kagoshima Creative Festival (KCF). It was created as a platform designed to evaluate and circulate not only expressive talent, but the "idea" itself. The word "idea" is often used lightly to mean little more than a passing thought. Yet, we may need to reclaim its depth by returning to the philosophical "Theory of Ideas."

The creativity we envision crosses genre boundaries freely. Serving as a catalyst to explore new creative possibilities in the age of AI, we are building an ecosystem that opens the way for the next generation of creative culture.

To our partner companies

To share new value with the world from Kagoshima, Japan, KCP is building a "living lab (a living proving ground)" where companies, local governments, universities and creators talk with one another on equal footing.

This Forum, held as Prototype 2026, will be a key base for combining your business strategy with the passion of creators to co-create the business models of the next era. KCP does not limit your support to "just placing an ad."

1. First-hand data on next-generation creative trends

We provide the "KCP Creative Insight Report," which analyzes entries, examples of AI use, production trends and technology trends from many angles. You can use it as data to back up new businesses and marketing strategies.

2. Open innovation to solve your company's challenges

Companies present their marketing or business challenges as themes. Through discussion with creators and participants, combined with AI technology, we work toward co-creating and testing concrete ideas and solutions.

3. Exit support toward new businesses and commercialization

Outstanding works do not end with an award. We support them all the way through building a business model, matching for legal services and fundraising, priority licensing, joint commercialization and regional partnerships.

For individual co-creation projects that involve confidential information, the scope of disclosure, confidentiality, and the handling of intellectual property rights in ideas and deliverables will be discussed between the parties before the project starts and set out in an individual contract.
